Group Reporting Manager- 15 months Fixed Term Contract

At Graphcore, we are developing the next generation of artificial intelligence compute systems to accelerate AI innovation and power its widespread deployment. We are building a complete AI system including silicon, software and datacentre hardware. Since July 2024 we have been a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftBank Group, a company with huge ambitions within the AI market.

We are looking for an experienced Group Reporting Manager to join our Finance team on a 15 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a high-impact role within an innovative technology business headquartered in central Bristol.

You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful group reporting while providing technical accounting expertise across the group companies and supporting reporting requirements for our parent companies within the SoftBank Group.

Responsibilities

  • Group Reporting & Consolidation
    • Manage monthly and quarterly consolidated group reporting in line with deadlines.
    • Deliver group results to Softbank accounting team including explanations and analysis.
    • Identify and process all elimination and consolidation adjustments.
    • Ensure subsidiaries and affiliates adhere to Group reporting standards.
    • Prepare Annual Group Financial Statements under IFRS.
  • Audit & Compliance
    • Liaise with UK auditors for the annual audit and with SoftBank Group auditors quarterly.
    • Oversee group GL mapping and ensure consistent treatment across subsidiaries and parent systems.
    • Ensure compliance with local financial reporting obligations and deadlines.
  • Subsidiary Oversight
    • Act as Controller for non-UK subsidiaries.
    • Oversee and support local service providers to deliver group reporting and local compliance.
    • Review monthly group reporting submissions for accuracy and timeliness.
    • Approve payroll and supplier payments.
  • Technical Accounting & Transactions
    • Maintain IFRS accounting entries (e.g., IFRS 16, IAS 36, IFRS 2).
    • Draft technical accounting memos for new and material transactions.
    • Assess accounting implications of new or changing business activities.
    • Support with disclosure requirements for significant transactions.
  • Collaboration & Advisory
    • Partner with business and finance teams to identify potential accounting issues and propose practical solutions.
    • Communicate reporting processes and requirements effectively across departments.
    • Support ad-hoc projects and other finance team members when needed.

Essential skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent), ideally with minimum 2+ years PQE.
  • Strong background in audit and/or technical accounting
  • Excellent working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach with a strong “can-do” attitude.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines.

Desirable skills

  • Desirable experience of working in a fast paced, growing environment
  • Advanced Excel skills, with ERP system experience
