We’re seeking a passionate Senior Data Engineer who thrives on complexity, is excited to push the boundaries of AI, and wants to make a direct impact on the private markets landscape. Here, you’ll own major technical initiatives at the core of our product, influencing both our AI strategy and our broader engineering direction. Grata is a hybrid company, with team members collaborating in our NYC office (near Bryant Park) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
At Grata, we will expect you to:
- Write high-quality production code. Champion best practices in code quality and development processes across the team.
- Take a leadership role in architecting the data warehouse.
- Guide the team in thoughtfully & effectively modeling our data, domains, and pipeline structures.
- Mentor other team members.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience writing data pipelines and creating clean, reliable transformation processes.
- Deep experience owning major data modelling projects and making decisions based on industry standard strategies (Kimball, star schema, etc).
- Deep experience with Spark & Databricks.
- A strong sense of ownership, action-orientation, and a desire to improve the processes and systems around you.
- Experience mentoring other developers.

Grata is committed to providing competitive cash compensation and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below.

For candidates based in New York City, the total expected compensation is $157,500 to $189,000. There is also an annual bonus plan of 5-15% of base salary, depending on experience.
