We’re seeking a passionate Lead Data Engineer who thrives on complexity, is excited to push the boundaries of AI, and wants to make a direct impact on the private markets landscape. Here, you’ll own major technical initiatives at the core of our product, influencing both our AI strategy and our broader engineering direction. Grata is a hybrid company, with team members collaborating in our NYC office (near Bryant Park) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
What You'll Do:
- Architect and lead development of scalable, high-quality data pipelines.
- Own data modeling strategies and guide domain-driven design.
- Set technical standards and champion best practices.
- Mentor and support team members in technical growth.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience building robust data pipelines and transformation workflows.
- Expertise in data modeling (e.g., Kimball, star schema).
- Deep experience with Spark and Databricks.
- Strong leadership, ownership mindset, and a drive to improve systems and processes.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers.

Grata is committed to providing competitive cash compensation and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below.

For candidates based in New York City, the total expected compensation is $160,00 to $200,000. There is also an annual bonus plan of 5-15% of base salary, depending on experience.
