Trusted by over 700 customers—including top investors, advisors, and corporate development teams—Grata is growing fast, backed by accolades from G2 and PE Wire. We’re looking for ambitious talent to help us shape the future of data-driven dealmaking.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an Engineering Team Lead to guide one of our core product engineering squads. You’ll be responsible for leading a high-performing team of engineers building customer-facing features that power the workflows of top investors and deal professionals, and you’ll do it by leveraging cutting-edge AI Models, Agents, and Agentic Workflows to augment product capabilities and engineering velocity.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll split your time between writing production code, mentoring engineers, and driving the technical execution of product initiatives in partnership with Design, Product, and Data. You’ll also be working closely with our AI Teams to embed AI into our product surface area.
What You’ll Do
As an Engineering Lead at Grata, you will:
- Lead a cross-functional team of engineers to deliver features across the stack using React and Django.
- Partner with Product and Design to scope work, shape roadmap priorities, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Own the technical quality, stability, and scalability of the systems your team maintains.
- Guide architecture decisions across backend services, API design, and frontend experience.
- Drive team rituals (standups, sprint planning, retros) and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor engineers on the team, helping them grow technically and professionally.
- Collaborate with peers across engineering to evolve shared patterns, improve deployment pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD), and increase operational excellence.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of professional experience, including 1+ years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Proven track record of building and scaling production systems in Python (Django) and JavaScript/TypeScript (React).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills—you bring clarity to ambiguity and alignment to cross-functional teams.
- You hold a high bar for code quality, system design, and performance—and help others reach it.
- You take ownership, identify opportunities, and ship solutions that move the business forward.
Why You’ll Love It Here
- Mentorship & Growth
- Opportunities to make a difference and develop your engineering leadership skills.
- Regular 1:1s and feedback sessions with senior engineering leaders.
- High-Impact Work
- Your code powers live features used by top-tier investors every day.
- Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams.
- Supportive Culture
- Weekly Grubhub-sponsored team lunches.
- Unlimited PTO, flexible work location (24 days remote per year), and a dog-friendly office.
- Comprehensive Benefits
- Generous employee-premium coverage on medical, dental, and vision plans.
- 12 weeks parental leave, 401(k) with company match, pre-tax commuter benefits.
