Product Manager, Data Curation
Overview
Grata is the leading private market dealmaking platform. We make it easy to find, research, and engage with private companies. Our platform has the most comprehensive, accurate, and searchable proprietary data on private companies, their financials, and their owners.
We help leading investors (PE/growth), investment bankers, management consultants, and corporate development teams discover and win more deals. Grata has over 700 customers and has been widely recognized as the market leader by G2, PE Wire, and more.
We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to own the roadmap and execution for Grata’s data curation tools—the systems our analysts and researchers use to produce gold-standard data quality. Your work will streamline curation workflows, elevate data signal-to-noise, and feed high-quality training datasets for AI/ML models. You will be accountable for the consistency, reliability, and scalability of Grata’s data quality across a global operation
In this role, you will serve as the central point of contact among all stakeholders in the data curation process, including product managers, engineers (AI/ML, FE/BE), researchers, data operators, and data pillar leads. You will continuously drive improvements to create efficiency for the product using a combination of automation, tool enhancements, and process improvement. You will report to the Director of Data Product while working closely with the Director of Data Operations and Engineering Lead for the data curation squad with a lot of responsibility, collaboration, and interactions with a global team.
We are looking for someone who takes initiative, excels in a fluid environment and transforms ambiguity into clear solutions. The ideal candidate is also deeply customer-obsessed, ensuring that their work consistently aligns with and addresses customer needs.
If you’re passionate about building innovative products, shaping the future of data curation, and driving real impact for users, we’d love to hear from you.
Grata is a hybrid company, which means our employees work from our NYC office (near Bryant Park) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
At Grata, we will expect you to:
- Own end-to-end product strategy for data curation tooling: roadmap, requirements, release quality, and adoption.
- Drive efficiency via automation, UX improvements, and process design across analyst/research workflows. Work with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, QA, and operations to define and ship the roadmap
- Partner with AI/ML, FE/BE engineering, product, researchers, data operators, and pillar leads to ship durable solutions.
- Build feedback loops that surface low-quality data and accelerate resolution at scale.
- Define and track data quality KPIs; instrument tooling to improve precision, recall, and freshness.
- Ensure curation outputs are production-grade inputs for AI/ML training and inference.
- Establish yourself as the go-to expert and trusted leader for the product area, building credibility through ownership and results
- Prioritize initiatives ruthlessly using a data-driven approach to maximize impact and deliver customer value
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of product management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience developing a strategic vision and product roadmap for data initiatives
- Can partner and influence effectively across all levels of an organization, and regularly use these skills to improve the work going on around you
- Experience in a prior startup or high-ambiguity environment; a track record of managing ambiguity and complexity affecting many stakeholders in an organized and structured way
- Experience with data modeling languages such as Python, SQL, and R
- Strong expertise in data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data governance frameworks.
- Experience with modern data stack technologies (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Apache Spark, Airflow, DBT, Kafka).
- Deep understanding of data modeling, domain-driven design, and building scalable, resilient data platforms.
- [Bonus] Prior experience working with labeling products and teams in Asia
- [Bonus] Prior experience as a data scientist, data engineer, or senior data analyst
- [Bonus] Domain knowledge and experience with the private capital markets
Benefits & Perks:
- Medical, dental, and vision plans: we offer plans with 80% coverage of premiums for employees
