Tell Me About My Job

You will work within Gravitate — an AI-enabled collaboration, automation, and decision-support platform for energy and commodity organizations.

Your primary role will be to analyze product implementations and provide technical design recommendations, partnering with functional consultants who translate clients’ strategic goals into actionable project outcomes.

As a technical team member, you’ll develop integrations and configurations for client implementations while delivering exceptional customer service. With the support of our development team, you’ll also help evaluate and translate business requirements into Gravitate integrations and configurations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support other technical consultants
  • Manage and assign the technical work load
  • Provide project implementation estimates
  • Support the integrations by participating in on-call rotation
  • Design, develop, and implement client integrations
  • Ensure proper software design for scalability, robustness, maintainability, and integration with other components and systems
  • Create technical solutions for system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Build and maintain technical design documents
  • Ensure software design meets standards for scalability, robustness, maintainability, and integration with other systems
  • Participate in testing, documentation, and retrospective sessions
  • Collaborate with the Delivery Team to ensure that project goals and deadlines are met
  • Participate in customer meetings

  • Must be able to gain a deep understanding of our clients’ needs/goals and be able to help them meet them through the effective implementation of our software with effective change management and process improvement.

The Non-Negotiables

  • 5+ years of experience building integrations, preferably using Python.
  • 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with NoSQL and SQL databases.
  • 5+ years of experience working with distributed systems or microservice architectures.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and a demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to acquire a deep understanding of business processes and translate them into long-term technical solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience communicating technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience (Remember: This is a customer-facing role!)
  • Proven ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams, providing input while being receptive to others’ ideas, with a focus on delivering high-quality enterprise solutions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with or exposure to designing JSON/Rest API's
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Azure, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes, Git

Physical Requirements

  • Be able to sit at desk and participate in online meetings for 8+ hours per day 
  • Be able to travel to company meetings and client sites (may require up to 30% travel)
