Gravity Well is looking for a Senior Technical Artist (Animation Focus). The ideal candidate will have a passion for empowering animators and building tools, workflows, and pipelines from maya to the Unreal Engine.
This role will be essential to shaping the animation workflow of our brand new franchise, working directly with our technical art and animation teams.

What You'll Do:
- Work with the animation, technical art and engineering teams to research, develop and maintain the animation content pipeline from content creation to engine integration and testing.
- Participate in Animation reviews to help understand the issues and goals of the animation team.
- Work effectively with cross discipline team members to implement compelling and technically sound gameplay experiences.
- Write clear, concise documentation and provide training to ensure the team understands and can effectively use the animation pipeline and tools.
Ideally You'll Have:
- 5+ years of game development experience, with a strong focus on animation and animation systems.
- A deep understanding of and passion for game animation, with a proven ability to define, develop, and implement gameplay animation systems.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine and the capacity to contribute to the development of an animation pipeline.
- Experience developing Maya animation focused tools with Python and Mel.
- Maya Rigging experience and understanding.
- Experience with and understanding of C++ to UE blueprint implementation.
- A portfolio demonstrating work building animation features and toolsets.
Bonus Points:
- Experience shipping one or more games using Unreal Engine.
- A dynamic and proactive work ethic with a focus on collaboration and adaptability.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple locations.
- Tool design and development experience.
- Experience coding in Unreal with C++
What You’ll Get:
The base pay for this role is $125,000 to $175,000 USD per year (or equivalent in your local currency). We pay fairly across our global team regardless of your location but it will differ based on factors such as experience, qualifications etc.

Where You'll Work:
This position is for US and Canadian residents. We have an office in California if you like to come to an office, but most employees work from home across different US time zones and that's totally fine.
