This is an independent contractor engagement in Argentina. Deel will serve as Contractor of Record and will contract with and pay the independent contractor. The independent contractor will provide services to Greenhouse on a non-exclusive basis, may provide services to other clients, and will be responsible for determining the manner and means of performing the services, subject to the applicable statement of work and agreed deliverables. This engagement is not an employment relationship with Greenhouse. No employment relationship, social benefits, or labor entitlements under Argentine Law 20,744 are created by this engagement. .
Through this arrangement, Deel is hiring an independent contractor to provide services to the Enterprise Apps team at Greenhouse.
EA's charter is to take toil off every other team in the company so they can focus on the work only they can do. In 2026, we're using that charter to build something more ambitious: an AI-native operating layer for Greenhouse, with internal tooling, agents, skills, and automations that any team can build on, deploy to, and run against Greenhouse's data and tools. We're early enough in the work that the team will help shape what the platform actually becomes.
This is the role for the engineer who will provide services related to EA's platform end-to-end. Two things sit on your plate. The first is the surface that lets people across Greenhouse, including engineers and over time non-engineers, build, deploy, and run their own agents and automations. The shape of that surface is open; you'll help shape it. The second is whatever infrastructure EA needs to ship reliably (services, runtime, deployment, observability) and EA's AWS footprint underneath it. The work asks you to think holistically about EA's role across the business and pick the right things to build at the right time.
This role will support the development and maintenance of the Company’s web-based applications as part of an approximately 12-month engagement. In this role, you will focus on high-quality feature execution and technical reliability across the application stack for the Company
This is a collaborative, execution-focused, non-exclusive engagement. Services will include design, development, and delivery of platform infrastructure as scoped with the EA team.
Contract & location details
- Contract duration: Approximately 12 months
- Engagement type: A non-exclusive contract role engaged through a Contractor of Record (COR) via Deel in Argentina
- Location: Argentina (remote)
- Working model: Collaboration with a distributed, US & Canada-based team with reasonable availability for coordination with Greenhouse stakeholders
Who will love this job
- A platform builder – you love creating tools, infrastructure, and systems that help other engineers move faster and build with confidence
- A force multiplier – you think beyond one-off solutions and look for investments that unlock impact across multiple teams and workflows
- A reliability-minded engineer – you care about the foundations that make production systems trustworthy, from deployment automation and security to observability and incident response
- An AI systems pragmatist – you’re excited by the potential of agents and automations, but equally focused on the evaluation and telemetry needed to use them responsibly in real workflows
- A close partner – you enjoy working directly with engineers and other users to understand what they need, shape the platform around real workflows, and build things people actually want to use
What you’ll do
- Help build the platform that lets people across Greenhouse build, deploy, and run their own agents and automations against Greenhouse's data and tools, shaping the platform's design alongside the team.
- Stand up whatever infrastructure EA's application engineers need to ship reliably, including services, runtime, deployment, scheduling, and observability.
- Provide services related to EA's AWS footprint end-to-end, including networking, IAM, secrets, security posture, and deployment automation.
- Build the evaluation and observability practices that let us trust AI in front of real workflows.
- Think holistically about EA's role across the business; spot the platform investments that pay off across multiple teams, not just one.
- Partner with EA's application engineers so the platform actually fits the workflows they're shipping.
- At Greenhouse's request, provide availability during agreed windows for production support activities.
You should have
- 5+ years of production engineering experience, including substantial work on a platform, SDK, framework, or developer-experience product that other engineers built on.
- Strong Python and TypeScript. Comfortable designing APIs that strangers will read first and ask questions about second.
- Hands-on experience operating production services on AWS and/or GCP, including compute, networking, IAM, secrets, and deployment automation/Terraform. You're the person who's been responsible end-to-end for an environment, not just a consumer of one.
- Strong instincts for evaluation and observability of non-deterministic systems. You know what good telemetry for an agent looks like.
- Solid PostgreSQL and data-modeling skills.
- A track record of working closely with users (engineers and non-engineers) and shaping the product based on what they actually do.
- Production security fundamentals: secrets management, OAuth/OIDC, least-privilege, dependency hygiene.
