Join us to do the best work of your career, solving meaningful problems with remarkable teams.
This is an independent contractor engagement in Argentina. Deel will serve as Contractor of Record and will contract with and pay the independent contractor. The independent contractor will provide services to Greenhouse on a non-exclusive basis, may provide services to other clients, and will be responsible for determining the manner and means of performing the services, subject to the applicable statement of work and agreed deliverables. This engagement is not an employment relationship with Greenhouse. No employment relationship, social benefits, or labor entitlements under Argentine Law 20,744 are created by this engagement. Through this arrangement, Deel is hiring an independent contractor to provide services to the Enterprise Apps (EA) team at Greenhouse.
EA's charter is to take toil off every other team in the company so they can focus on the work only they can do. In 2026, we're using that charter to build something more ambitious: an AI-native operating layer for Greenhouse, with internal tooling, agents, skills, and automations that any team can build on, deploy to, and run against Greenhouse's data and tools. We're early enough in the work that the team will help shape what the platform actually becomes.
This is a software engineering role focused on building developer-facing products, APIs, frameworks, and abstractions. The right person will be a strong Python or TypeScript engineer who also understands how production systems are deployed, secured, and operated in the cloud.
This role will support the development and maintenance of the Company’s web-based applications as part of an approximately 12-month engagement. In this role, you will focus on high-quality feature execution and technical reliability across the application stack for the Company
This is a collaborative, execution-focused, non-exclusive engagement. Services will include design, development, and delivery of platform infrastructure as scoped with the EA team.

Who will love this job
- A systems thinker – You enjoy shaping technical direction and making thoughtful architecture decisions for complex, emerging AI and automation systems.
- A developer tools enthusiast – You love building clean, ergonomic APIs, SDKs, and integrations that make life easier for internal engineers, agentic systems, and partners.
- A high-impact problem-solver – You like identifying the most valuable opportunities to automate, then partnering across teams to take solutions from idea to production.
- A full-stack builder – You’re energized by working across backend services, SDK design, internal tools, data models, and SaaS integrations to create practical, durable solutions.
- A quality champion – You care deeply about strong engineering standards, from API design, testing, and documentation to observability, incident response, and operational excellence.
What you’ll do
- Anchor architecture decisions for EA's AI/agentic stack: patterns for developer tools, APIs, SDKs, skills, tools, agent loops, evals, memory, and observability.
- Build and maintain internal developer platforms, APIs, and SDKs that enable fast, reliable integration across our AI and automation ecosystem.
- Pick the highest-leverage problems to automate and run them end-to-end with department partners and EA peers.
- Ship production-grade Python and TypeScript services, internal UIs, public/internal SDKs, and integrations across our SaaS estate (Okta, Slack, Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, Zendesk, Jira, and others).
- Design robust data models in PostgreSQL that make automation, observability, and AI experimentation safe and scalable.
- Leverage cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) to support, deploy, and monitor your APIs and services without needing to manage heavy infrastructure full-time.
- Contribute to code reviews and propose improvements to API standards, testing, documentation, and runbook practices.
- At Greenhouse's request, provide availability during agreed windows for production support activities.
You should have
- 5+ years of production experience as a software engineer.
- Strong Python and/or TypeScript, with hands-on experience designing and delivering production APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
- Fluency across the full stack, including frontend frameworks (e.g., React) to build developer-facing dashboards and internal tools.
- Track record of designing and operating SaaS integrations at scale, including REST/GraphQL APIs, OAuth, webhooks, rate limits, idempotency, and retries.
- Practical platform & cloud experience with AWS or GCP (e.g., basic infrastructure setup, serverless services, or containerized deployments)—you don't need to be a dedicated DevOps/infra expert, but you know your way around cloud services.
- Deep PostgreSQL and SQL skills with thoughtful data-modeling judgment.
- Solid testing practice (pytest, Jest, RSpec, or equivalent) and a real commitment to clean API documentation and engineering quality.
- Comfortable with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, and at least one production observability stack (Datadog, Rollbar, or similar).
