Ground Support Equipment Mechanic III
Summary
The GSE Mechanic III works under minimal supervision to safely perform inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of various ground support equipment used in aviation operations. The candidate is highly skilled in mechanical systems, demonstrates strong troubleshooting abilities, is familiar with all applicable safety practices, and understands the importance of maintaining equipment in peak operational condition to support flight line operations efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on aviation ground support equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic repairs.
- Ensure all equipment meets required safety standards prior to operational use.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
- Operate tools, gauges, and testing equipment to perform and verify repairs.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and high-quality work.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and policies within the work area.
- Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years’ recent applicable related experience. Experience in aerospace industry preferred, however other industry related experience will be considered. Proven work experience as a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic or similar role. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems required. Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a plus.
US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Must hold and maintain a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record. This position requires operating, transporting, and road-testing ground support equipment and driving company vehicles as assig

Physical Requirements
- Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
- Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
- Able to lift 25- 50 pounds without assistance.
- Able to reach overhead.
- Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
- Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
- Full range of motion with both hands.
- Able to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $75,808.00 - $104,236.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
