Master Aircraft Mechanic
Summary
The Master Aircraft Mechanic works under minimal supervision to safely direct personnel on the proper procedures for aircraft mechanical systems and components. In-depth understanding of Boeing mechanical systems, components, methods, technical manuals, and FAA regulations in a part 145 operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Supervisory Level: Needs Little or No Supervision, assume lead and/or manager duties as required.
- In-depth understanding of commercial aviation mechanical systems and components.
- Proficient in inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical systems and components
- Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the GTI RSM procedures.
- Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.
- May assist Leads with planning, production, and quality assurance of assigned projects.
- Ensure group adherence and promotion of safety policy, raise awareness of all safety concerns
- Gathers information to submit to Engineering as needed.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Performs troubleshooting and repairs to mechanical systems and components
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform duties.
- Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make other adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership up to date of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
- Complete job assignments in a timely manner.
- Complete on-the-job-training (OJT) forms and required reading.
- Help with general clean-up of work area.
- Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Effective and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
- Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required. High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ recent applicable work in aircraft mechanical systems or related experience.
- Experience in aviation industry preferred.
- US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents as well as communicate effectively with other maintenance and support personnel at all levels regarding job related issues.
- May be required to move or lift 25– 50 pounds.
- This role may require you to balance, bend, climb, crawl, reach, sit, stoop, twist, walk; use their hands, fingers, and arms; talk and hear; and focus on objects up close.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $84,872.00 - $169,699.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
