The Role

The Licensing Specialist position at Green Thumb Industries Inc.(“GTI”), is responsible for the tasks associated with researching requirements, completing, submitting, obtaining, and maintaining all licenses required to operate any businesses owned by GTI or any of its affiliated companies. 

Responsibilities

• Access and review pertinent licensing regulations and updates from regulatory bodies at local and state levels; must stay current with changes in licensing requirements and renewal timelines for assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of the application and all required supporting documentation to the appropriate regulatory agency by no later than the required submission date(s). 
• Partner with Accounting/Finance to ensure that upcoming licensing/renewal payments, due dates, and payment methods are communicated and approved to support timely submissions. 
• Report any delays or other matters of concern to manager.
• Ensure facilities receive all licenses in a timely manner to post on-site at the facility.
• Complete applications required for ownership, Officer and/or Director changes and submit the forms with any required attachments, including but not limited to fingerprints to the appropriate regulatory agency within the required timeframe. 
• Maintain an organized and accurate database of all state and local cannabis and business license details, including submission dates, renewal timelines and expiration dates for all facilities. 
• Manage, support and respond to inquiries, messages, and requests within the Licensing mailbox; distribute inquiries from regulatory agencies to appropriate internal points of contact, gather responses, and submit back to regulators accordingly. 
• Provide physical copies of licenses and license-related data for vendor requests.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in licensing, highly regulated industry experience preferred. 

• A minimum of 2 years in cannabis industry preferred.

 • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

• Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.

• Comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity.

• Able to convey ideas and information clearly in both spoken and written forms.

• Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

• Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.

Additional Requirements 

• Must pass all required background checks.

• Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

• Must possess valid driver’s license.

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
