Application Analyst

The Role 

The Application Analyst plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions at GTI. This role will be hands on with our business applications, and will be responsible to understand, document, and support optimized configuration for CPG systems. The Application Analyst also acts as a technical lead in new capability development and will be leading the requirements gathering, functional design as well as functional and regression testing.

Responsibilities 

  • Drive requirements gathering and analysis sessions with cross-functional business partners  
  • Develop technical documentation, playbooks, and knowledge base articles for core systems.  
  • Lead analysis of process flows, data models, and system functionalities to identify bottlenecks, pain points, and areas of potential improvement. 
  • Execute solution design and evaluation of applications 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize improvement opportunities based on business impact, feasibility, and resource availability. 
  • Configure software applications to align with business processes and requirements. This may involve modifying application settings, workflows, forms, and reports. 
  • Lead functional testing, regression testing, and QA review of our internal and third-party applications  
  • Assist in formulating timelines, milestones, budgets, and estimates for projects. 
  • Manage and track progress of enhancements and multiple large complex projects for new capabilities  
  • Engage with business and IT stakeholders to facilitate effective communication 
  • Act as level 3 Application support for primary business applications

Qualifications  

  • 3+ years' experience as a business system analyst working with retail or CPG systems. 
  • Demonstrated history of applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in previous roles. 
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis methodologies and technology delivery 
  • Strong technical background and comfort troubleshooting reported issues/bugs for internal and SaaS applications 
  • Project management and organization skills to manage projects and maintain visibility of project status to involved stakeholders 
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation abilities 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practices 
  • Strong understanding of CPG retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and related supply chain & finance functions, and processes 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
