Brand Manager, Activation: RYTHM

The Role 

The Brand Manager, Activations for RYTHM will lead the development and growth of the RYTHM brand within the Green Thumb family of brands. This position requires an experienced and high energy marketer who believes in the power of brands to deliver transformative products and experiences to meet consumer needs. With strong communication plus creative and analytical skills, the right candidate will leverage data-driven consumer and business insights to drive strategies for brand development, multi-channel distribution, and effective and break-through awareness strategies to deliver sustainable profitable growth for our brands both nationally and at the local market level. This person should be passionate about RYTHM’s role as a lifestyle brand to that lives at the intersection of music and weed.  

As a Brand Manager at Green Thumb, you will bring your enthusiasm and team-first attitude to building sustaining brands in our fast-paced, emerging industry and will work collaboratively & cross-functionally with events & experiences, revenue, sales, retail, C-suite and external partners to deliver consistent, authentic brand experiences for our consumers in our fast-paced and growing organization. This position will have the potential for direct line leadership as our organization continues to grow. 

This is a hybrid position and requires onsite work at our Chicago HQ office. This is not a 9am-5pm job. Hours will vary as events may take place at night and on weekends.

Responsibilities 

  • Work directly with leadership team to strategize and execute on RYTHM activations + awareness campaigns.  
  • Develop and execute brand partnerships strategy in partnership with Senior Brand Lead + other members of the marketing org.  
  • Develop, implement and manage annual brand plans in conjunction with Senior Brand Lead and Green Thumb’s long-term strategic plan, including brand positioning, product strategy, consumer and trade communications and promotions, and new product development.  
  • Explore the media landscape for the cannabis category and pilot breakthrough communications programs to drive our brands forward.  
  • Oversee venue-based partnerships and brand activations, collaborating with sales and events teams to execute and optimize brand experiences. 
  • Help develop and support brand campaigns through the lens of artist partnerships, brand collabs, influencers, venue relationships etc.  
  • Manage internal creative and external agencies, along with collaborating with regional, local, and retail marketing teams and partners to develop best in class marketing campaigns, promotions, and partnerships.  
  • Co-produce RYTHM content; build and execute go-to-market strategy with said content.   
  • Develop brand activation strategy and be able to travel and execute activations in key markets.  
  • Support consumer and trade communications and promotions, including coordination with sales, retail, field marketing, and partners.  
  • Establish and maintain brand budgets and key performance indicators that ensure brand health and growth targets are achieved effectively and efficiently.  
  • Ensure that all elements of brand foundations and visual identity standards are kept intact.   
  • Coach, develop, and manage a team of Assistant Brand Manager(s), Social Media Manger and/or Marketing Coordinator(s), pending team structure.

Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of progressive business experience with at least 3+ years in brand/marketing roles; lifestyle or similar experience preferred.  
  • Experience working cross-functionally to translate brand strategies into company behaviors and company communications.  
  • Ability to leverage critical consumer and business insights to inform brand plans.   
  • Experience leading brand/experiential activations.  
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity.  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and sales.  
  • Experience directing and collaborating with internal and external partners (e.g., brand strategy, package design, research and promotion agencies) for brand development and execution.  
  • Demonstrated skill in leading strong cross-functional teams.  
  • Demonstrated success in an early stage and or rapidly growing business.  
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills   
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Management or a related field preferred 
  • Strong writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills   
  • Demonstrated interest in and passion for cannabis.   
  • Demonstrated interest in and passion for lifestyle branding and/or similar field.

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$85,000 - $110,000 USD
