Community Manager

Chicago, Illinois, United States

The Role

As a member of Brand Equity & Activation Team, the Community Manager will own and grow our social communities for industry-leading brand Rythm, in addition to our two beverage brands, Señorita and Rythm Beverage.  They will work collaboratively with the social, creative, brand marketing, ecomm, and compliance teams, and external partners to build an engaged and loyal community that drives passion and awareness for both brands.

We’re seeking a culturally plugged-in and deeply “online” community builder who understands authenticity and tone for brands in 2026. You are a quick, witty social voice, with undeniable style that resonates on various nuanced social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok.

This is a hybrid role requiring in office 2 days per week (Tues/Thurs usually) at our Chicago (River North) office.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day community management across all social channels for Señorita, Rythm, and Rythm Beverage, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube
  • Monitor, respond to, and engage with comments, DMs, mentions, and tags in a brand-appropriate voice and tone for each brand distinctly
  • Develop and maintain community management guidelines and response playbooks for each brand
  • Identify and escalate emerging trends, consumer sentiment shifts, and potential issues to the broader social team
  • Collaborate with the social media, paid, and creative teams to surface UGC opportunities and community content worth amplifying
  • Build and nurture relationships with brand advocates, superfans, and micro-community leaders
  • Conduct regular social listening and competitive audits to stay ahead of the conversation
  • Establish community KPIs and produce regular reports tracking engagement, sentiment, and growth
  • Partner with compliance to ensure all content meets regulatory requirements
  • Support Influencer and Affiliate Manager with brand partnership activations as they intersect with community channels

Qualifications

  • You have 1-3+ years’ experience in social media management, preferably for a consumer brand in beverage, wellness, cannabis, or lifestyle brands
  • You are fluent in social tools, such as Sprout Social, Meta Business Manager, or similar. Bonus points for expertise with AI tools.
  • You can write engaging copy, that feels native to each platform and authentic to each brand's distinct personality
  • You can organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines, with a variety of opinionated stakeholders across the organization, and across multiple brands.
  • You love a fast pace and don’t mind the frequent pivots.  Cannabis is highly regulated, fluid industry that often requires quick thinking and multiple pivots to make things work.
  • You're deeply tuned into culture. Social trends, pop culture, memes, and the conversations happening in wellness and lifestyle spaces
  • You have a good sense of humor.  You’re someone who knows how to leverage humor to grow brand love.
  • You understand cannabis culture – and know the cannabis brands that are showing up in social media authentically and the ones who are trying a little too hard.

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass any and all required background checks
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
