Director, Technology Applications- CPG & S&OP

The Role 

The Director, Technology Applications provides strategic and tactical leadership and works in collaboration with the IT Leadership team and Business Partners to deliver integrated technology solutions.  

From an Applications standpoint, this role will oversee a team who will manage and support all aspects of the functional requirements, development, enhancement and maintenance for the Wholesale S&OP, Cultivation, Manufacturing and Fulfillment CPG operations.  They will supervise the various phases of applications systems analysis, development, coordination, implementation, and documentation ensuring that user applications and sub-system activities are compatible with total system objectives.

They prioritize the development and cultivation of deep business relationships and can reconcile conflicts in regard to resources, deadlines, standards, prioritizations in a highly fast-paced business and industry.  

Responsibilities 

  • Oversee a department of technical professionals, both internal and external, responsible for the development of new applications and/or the maintenance and operation of existing information technology systems. 
  • Establish department goals, objectives, and operating procedures to drive continuous improvement on system stability and project delivery 
  • Oversight and accountability for day-to-day IT operations for all applications, including our SaaS solutions.  In the event an incident arises manage the remediation and long term plan to address.  
  • Develop and maintain systems and team performance metrics to drive continuous improvement 
  • Provide oversight to ensure the successful delivery of multiple complex IT projects within designated timelines and budgetary constraints. 
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to pinpoint functional capability and technology gaps. Formulate a technology roadmap considering business advantages, feasibility, and resource accessibility. 
  • Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors and technology partners for application-related services and solutions, while also contributing to prioritizing and aligning their product roadmap with business objectives. 
  • Facilitate IT Governance process in coordination with senior management, participate in planning for future business needs 
  • Formulate and oversee budgets for application development, maintenance, and support activities 
  • Act strategically to consolidate and leverage existing applications to streamline business processes and reduce overhead. 

Qualifications  

  • 8+ years of technical program/project management experience in a fast-paced technology company and/or consulting;  
  • 6+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications that directly enable Wholesale S&OP, Cultivation, Manufacturing, Fulfillment, or other supply chain operations. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management or a related field, preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of internal and external technical staff, manage, and prioritize multiple concurrent projects. 
  • Possess a high level of business acumen with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment 
  • Able to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and proficient in explaining complex technical decisions to non-technical partners. 
  • Exceptional organization and planning skills and process-driven thinking 
  • Self-starter, creative, enthusiastic, innovative and collaborative outlook 
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment 
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information 
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior business stakeholders to identify capability gaps and developing technology road maps 
  • Demonstrated experience managing project and department budgets 
  • Experience partnering with 3rd party vendors on system performance and future road map capability needs 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Strong understanding of CPG Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), cultivation, manufacturing, fulfillment, supply chain, and finance business processes. 
  • Experience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practices 

 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks 
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb 
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$160,000 - $190,000 USD
