
Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning, and directing all General Labor employees and determining shift staffing needs to ensure all inbound shipments are received timely. People management responsibilities include training, planning, and assigning daily work, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. There needs to be a focus on compliance to all safety policies and procedures. All work must be directed to ensure that safety, quality and cost metrics meet management and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises Inbound Team to ensure the accurate and timely receipt of all containers and freight.
- Coordinates the receiving of shipments, movement to warehouse, storage or work areas, and monitoring of shipments received for accuracy.
- Maintains a monthly report on all damaged inbound shipments and reports back to leadership.
- Oversees the put-away, replenishment of SKUS as per demand and/or business needs
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment
- Ensure employees follow all safety policies and procedures thoroughly investigate and report all safety accidents and violations in a timely manner. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA and MSDS Standards
- Should be a super user and subject matter expert for the warehouse management system.
- Set appointments for all daily inbound container deliveries.
- Communicates with carriers and drivers.
- Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads
- Conduct staff meetings to address specific topics, such as safety.
- Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, or career development.
- Assess training needs of staff and arrange for or provide appropriate instruction.
- Responsible for annual training of forklift operators after completing a train the trainer certification class
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
- May perform other duties as required.
Experience Required:
- 3-year experience in supervisory role
- Strong understanding of inventory and material control processes.
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate team members is critical.
- Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
- Experience with bar coding, RF terminal-based warehouse systems and scanning equipment
- High detail orientation and accuracy
- Takes initiative and needs little supervision.
- Hands on knowledge of SAP is a plus.
- Forklift Certified
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED required
