
US Customs Broker (Licensed)

Position Summary:
As a Customs Brokers you are responsible for managing the import and export of goods in compliance with customs laws and regulations. They act as a liaison between the company’s Global importer and exporters along with the government’s customs department. Advising on restrictions, traffic systems, insurance requirements, quotas, and other customs-related matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Negotiating with government agencies to resolve customs issues related to shipping delays and fines
• Prepare and process import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
• Calculating and processing duties and taxes to be paid
• Arrange for payment of duties, taxes, storage, and transportation of imported goods and coordinate the delivery of goods.
• Provide advice on transportation options, types of carriers, or shipping routes.
• Maintain relationships with customs and other government officials for the quick processing of shipments.
• Creating internal processes, training, and communication of current laws and regulations for company compliance.
• Communicating with leadership and colleagues to ensure they understand the import process and are aware of any government regulations or restrictions.
• Classifying imported and exported goods using HTS and Schedule B codes.
• Ensuring that imports and exports comply with customs regulations and laws.
• Facilitating the clearance of imported goods through customs.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of customs laws and regulations.
• Negotiating with government agencies on behalf of company.
• Resolve issues related to cargo transportation, including disputes or discrepancies.
• Track and trace the status of shipments.
• Managing shipments of goods and ensuring they meet all legal requirements
• SME of understanding and knowledge concerning customs regulations and laws, including international trade and logistics.
• Having excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and time management skills
Required Education and Experience:
• 10 years’ proven experience as a Customs Broker
• Having a bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field
• Being a licensed customs broker
• Experience with customs declaration software
• Customs Broker License is a must
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
