Position Summary: 

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Greenworks TN MFG production and their employees. The duties include overseeing the production budget, manufacturing efforts and deliverables, hiring and training of manufacturing employees, performance evaluations and efficiency generator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish production goals aligned with KPI and budget strategy
  • Drive business strategy to optimize the best output of quality product for customer use
  • Oversee operations to ensure quality, quantity and safety guidelines are met and followed.
  • Develop plans that contribute to operational efficiencies, foster collaborative efforts and cross functional departments for clear communication of SOP standards and output.
  • Oversee the planning forecast for operation buying strategy, ensuring manufacturing has the resources to make quality products.
  • Provide input on directives involving recruitment, training programs and onboarding efforts to engage and retain employees.
  • Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste, provide solutions to direct reports to implement within their departments.
  • Analyze data and create reports to present to executives regarding processes
  • Performance evaluations on direct reports and involvement in all performance evaluations within the production setting. Provide input and growth objectives aligning with KPI deliverables
  • Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage for the most output and cost-effective headcount spending.
  • Responsible for operational excellence; diagnosing equipment issues, creating solutions and providing support to the maintenance leadership.
  • Perform routine safety walks through observing the building, content, and environment to identify potential challenges creating solutions.
  • Provide guidance and accountability to direct reports for KPI output.

Performance Metrics (Key Performance Indictors- KPI’s)

The Operations Manager is accountable for achieving the following ongoing operational performance targets:

  • OTD (On-Time Delivery):95% or above
  • Overall TN Productivity:80% or above
  • Budget Control: Within 95% of target
  • Inventory DOH (Days on Hand):90 days below
  • Asset and Material Accuracy:98% or above

Performance against these KPIs will be reviewed regularly and used as input for performance evaluations, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Industry Experience from the OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) industry preferred.
  • 6-7 years’ experience as a Production/Manufacturing supervision leader
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal, and presentation settings
  • Ability to lead, motivate, direct, and provide accountability to a large team
  • Strong attention to deal
  • Analytical, data driven, and results minded
  • Multitasking and time-management skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
  • Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations
  • Good problem-solving abilities

 Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field. MBA in engineering or related field is preferred. The Plant Manager will need five years or more of experience in related heavy industry. OPE (Outdoor Power Equipment) experience is a plus to ensure our overall production effectiveness.
