GROOME INDUSTRIAL SERVICE GROUP is a growing company in Denville, NJ providing specialty maintenance services nationwide for several industries including natural gas-fired power generation, refinery, shipping, manufacturing, and aviation. If you have any of the following experience, you may be a great fit! 

The Painter Foreman position requires a willingness to learn and perform a variety of trades and specialty skills in the industrial maintenance sector. These will include, but not be limited to painting, safely operate heavy equipment or any other company vehicle; complete all paperwork related to the position / project. In addition, power washing, scaffolding, vacuuming, shoveling, blasting, grinding, construction, demolition. Your leadership will foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Physical Demand Level (PDL)

The PDL for this position will range from Medium to Very Heavy. You must be willing and able to fulfill all physical demands regularly.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
  • Quick response to sounds
  • Safe movement over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • Safe climbing of ladders
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Correctly wear personal protective gear throughout the day

Work Environment

You will regularly be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, with noise levels varying from moderate to severe.

Work Hours

Shift times vary based on customer needs, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts. Flexibility is essential.

Travel Requirements

Travel is required for out-of-state work, which may involve air or vehicle travel, and hotel stays.

Safety Responsibilities

Comply with all Groome, OSHA, and customer safety policies.

  • Clean-shaven for respirator use

Key Responsibilities

  • Embrace and promote the Company Safety Program
  • Make informed decisions in the field
  • Execute Stop Work Authority as needed
  • Manage and mentor team members
  • Maintain open communication with management regarding project scope and employee performance
  • Conduct Daily Toolbox Meetings and assess job-site hazards
  • Mobilize for emergency jobs and submit necessary paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain company equipment and conduct inventories at project start and end
  • Demonstrate construction, demolition, and mechanical knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with DOT requirements, including ELD

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and approval to operate company vehicles
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English
  • Various certifications (e.g., scaffold, mobile equipment, OSHA training) preferred
  • Experience in industrial maintenance and project management
