About the Position
The Grit Blasting Foreman is responsible for overseeing the grit blasting operations at construction sites, manufacturing facilities, or maintenance projects. This position involves supervising a team of grit blasting operators, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the timely completion of tasks. The foreman will be hands-on in leading the team, providing training, and ensuring high-quality surface preparation for coating applications or other industrial purposes.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in grit blasting, sandblasting, or surface preparation.
- 2-3 years of prior supervisory or foreman experience, managing a team, schedules, and ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Additional certifications or training in blasting or surface preparation (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of grit blasting techniques, abrasives, equipment, and surface preparation standards (SSPC, NACE, ISO).
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot grit blasting equipment.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address issues and optimize blasting operations.
- Organizational skills for efficient scheduling and task management.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Possession of a TWIC card is a plus (not required).
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions, read, write, and have basic math skills.
Requirements:
- Must be able to travel 100%.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs on occasion.
- Ability to reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, or bend on occasion.
- Ability to move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently.
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
