About the Position
Groome Industrial Services Company is seeking a CWI Code Welder Inspector with a minimum of 5 years of experience in welding inspection and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry codes, the ability to read and interpret line drawings and prints, and experience in compiling complete code packages for various welding projects.

Key Responsibilities
- This is a 100% travel job.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on welded structures to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Read and interpret line drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Assemble and manage code packages for new and ongoing welding projects.
- Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records.
- Collaborate with project managers, welders, and engineers to resolve technical and compliance issues.
- Monitor welding procedures, qualifications, and testing in accordance with applicable standards.
- Performs other duties as required.
What does it take to work for Groome Industrial?
- Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (AWS).
- Minimum of 5 years of welding inspection experience.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings, isometric drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards.
- Experience preparing and organizing code documentation and project packages.
- Familiarity with NDE (non-destructive examination) methods is a plus.
- Experience working in industries such as oil & gas, structural steel, or fabrication.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not required.
- Possession of an NCCER certificate is a plus but not necessary.
- Must understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend on occasion.
- Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
