About the Position
Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking a Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of mobile equipment, including trucks, forklifts, construction machinery, and other mobile assets. You will play a key role in ensuring that our equipment remains in top condition, minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of our machinery. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including oil changes, fluid checks, and general inspections.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks, forklifts, and heavy machinery.
- Keeps Operations Supervisor informed on the condition of the equipment.
- Conduct safety checks and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Keeps records on the preventative maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Assist with managing inventory and ordering parts needed for repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group?
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
- Proven experience with mobile equipment or heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and using diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions.
- Capacity to operate heavy machinery for extended periods.
