The Vice President, Information Technology and Security is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of all information technology and security systems across the organization. This role will ensure that our technology infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure, enabling us to meet the demands of rapid growth and technological innovation. This position will work closely with senior leaders to align IT and security strategies with our overall business objectives and operational needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s growth goals, technological needs, and security requirements.
  • Lead, and mentor the IT team to support the company’s current and future technology landscape.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with product development, engineering, and R&D teams to integrate IT solutions into new and existing products and services.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of company data, overseeing data management systems and practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners, ensuring that service levels and contractual obligations are met.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT and security investments with strategic priorities and operational requirements.
  • Develop and manage the IT and security department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to support business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization within IT operations.
  • Oversee and govern the Group14 Cybersecurity Program to protect proprietary data, intellectual property, customer information, and operating continuity.
  • Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats, ensuring the company’s defenses are constantly evolving.
  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard against internal and external threats.
  • Lead the organization’s response to major IT and security incidents, including data breaches, system failures, or cyberattacks.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Lead compliance efforts for regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27001) to protect both the company and its stakeholders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position such as Director, VP or CISO in a fast paced, high growth environment, preferably in technology or energy sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing complex IT and security functions globally, at a strategic level.
  • Experience in scaling IT infrastructure and implementing security protocols for a growing startup.
  • Expertise in enterprise IT architecture, cloud computing, network security and data protection practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity technologies, risk management frameworks, incident response and compliance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP and enterprise systems and collaboration tools.
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry.

OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.

The annual base salary range for this position is $220,000 - $260,000. All positions come with a bonus plan and company stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located. Please note that this is an office based job in Seattle, WA.
