Strategic Finance Manager, Temp

Remote

Grove Collaborative is a sustainability-focused consumer products company creating household and personal care essentials that are effective, beautifully designed, and healthier for people and the planet. We are a certified B Corp, plastic-neutral, and on a mission to transform the CPG industry for good.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to help us understand what’s happening in the business today—and what’s coming next.

This is a senior individual contributor role focused on financial modeling, forecasting, and business insight. You’ll work across Marketing, Fulfillment, and Leadership to translate data into decisions—helping Grove operate more efficiently and scale more intentionally.

You’ll own complex analyses, build models from scratch, and partner closely with stakeholders to guide decisions. This is a role for someone who is both analytically deep and highly curious—able to navigate ambiguity and deliver clarity.

This role is a 6 month temp commitment (but it's possible we'll need you permanently!).

YOUR IMPACT

Financial Modeling & Forecasting

  • Support Grove’s operating forecast (weekly/monthly)
  • Build and maintain models across:
    • LTV / CAC by channel
    • Marketing efficiency and spend allocation
    • Fulfillment and operational metrics
  • Identify risks, pressure-test assumptions, and proactively adjust outlook

Marketing & Growth Analytics

  • Analyze paid media performance
  • Evaluate customer acquisition efficiency and cohort behavior
  • Partner with Marketing to optimize spend and improve paybacks

Fulfillment & Cost Structure Analysis

  • Model shipping, labor, and operational costs
  • Identify cost drivers and opportunities for margin improvement
  • Support international expansion

Executive Support

  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights
  • Support leadership and board-level discussions as needed
  • Operate confidently in high-visibility environments

HOW YOU'LL SHOW UP

At Grove, this role is about operating as a senior, high-impact individual contributor—someone who can work through complex business problems and deliver practical, decision-ready insights.

  • Own complex analytical problems: You’ll work on high-impact questions where the right answer requires evaluating multiple variables and tradeoffs.
  • Apply strong judgment: You’ll determine the best approach to modeling and analysis, adapting methods as needed to get to clear outcomes.
  • Connect the dots across the business: You understand how Marketing, Fulfillment, and Finance interrelate—and reflect that in your work.
  • Operate with autonomy: You’re trusted to own your work end-to-end, with output reviewed for alignment to broader goals rather than step-by-step direction.
  • Influence through insight: You’ll regularly partner with stakeholders across teams, using data and clear communication to guide decisions.

Balance rigor and pragmatism: You know when to go deep—and when to move forward with imperfect data to keep the business moving.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS (and isn't)

  • This is a senior IC role, not a people management role
  • You will influence decisions through partnership with executive stakeholders

You are expected to operate with independence, strong judgment, and cross-functional collaboration

ABOUT YOU

  • You have 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent depth
  • Your background is in: Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, or similar
  • You have strong experience with:
    • Deep proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets
    • Experience working cross-functionally with business teams
    • Strong communication skills—able to translate complexity into clarity
  • You are comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments

STRONG CANDIDATES MAY HAVE

  • Experience in DTC or CPG businesses
  • Familiarity with marketing performance analytics
  • Experience modeling fulfillment or operational cost structures

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
