We are looking for an enthusiastic Team Lead Debt Collections (DACH) to join the Debt Collections team at Grover, full-time and minimum 3 days per week at our Berlin HQ.
As our Team Lead Debt Collections (DACH), you’ll report directly to the Head of Debt Collection and take full end-to-end responsibility for our debt recovery operations in our largest markets, Germany and Austria. You don’t just manage a team; you own a complex, high-stakes operation that manages unpaid accounts, customer outreach, and collection inquiries - ensuring operational excellence both in-house and with our external partners.
🎯 What you will contribute:
- Leadership: Lead, mentor, and level-up a team of 3 direct reports and ~18 indirects. You are responsible for their growth, performance, and daily motivation.
- Operational Excellence: Own the daily engine - from email and phone workflows to payment allocation and account handovers. You’ll identify bottlenecks before they happen and turn backlogs into streamlined processes.
- Drive Recovery: You’re not just watching from the sidelines. You’ll actively drive debt recovery efforts in our DACH markets, jumping in to support your team and connect with customers when it matters most.
- Data-Driven Culture: Move beyond "gut feelings." You’ll build a performance-driven culture by using KPIs and data to steer the team and optimize collection strategies.
- Partner Management: Take our External Debt Collection Agency (DCA) management to the next level, ensuring our partners meet Grover’s high standards of efficiency and customer experience.
🤝 What you bring:
- Experience: 3+ years in Collections, Financial Services, or high-volume Operations, with at least 1 year of direct leadership experience. You know how to lead in a fast-paced environment where change is the only constant.
- High Performance: You thrive in high-pressure environments. You can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball, translating complex processes into simple, actionable steps for your team.
- Analytical Mindset: You are tech-savvy and analytical. You don’t just report numbers; you understand what they mean and how to improve them. Excel is your best friend, and you have a natural grasp of business process management.
- Hands-on Leadership: You lead by example. You’re a passionate, proactive, result-oriented leader and are not afraid to get your hands dirty to get the job done.
- Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in English and German (Native/C1 is essential for the DACH market).
