Chief of Staff, Engineering & Product
About Us:
Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff, Engineering & Product to act as a strategic partner and force multiplier to senior leadership across Engineering and Product. This role is designed for a high-judgment operator who thrives in ambiguity, translates strategy into execution, and elevates the quality of communication, decision-making, and delivery across critical initiatives. You will work closely with Engineering and Product leadership to drive clarity, momentum, and outcomes across cross-functional efforts — from strategic planning and internal communications to special initiatives like Generative AI enablement and product execution support.
This is a highly trusted role with broad exposure, significant autonomy, and real influence over how the organization operates and scales.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Execution & Leadership Support
- Act as a thought partner and extension of Engineering and Product leadership, helping translate vision and priorities into clear plans and execution
- Anticipate organizational needs, proactively identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities
- Support operating rhythms including planning, goal-setting, reviews, and retrospectives
Project & Program Management
- Independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, driving urgency and accountability
- Manage senior stakeholders and make sound judgment calls without needing constant direction
- Ensure high-quality outcomes across initiatives with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Communication & Narrative Crafting
- Craft and refine executive-level communications, including written memos, presentations, and decks
- Distill complex technical and product topics into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Serve as a quality bar for “what good looks like” in written, verbal, and visual communication
Navigating Ambiguity
- Take broad or directional input and translate it into concrete plans, deliverables, and decisions
- Ensure nothing gets lost in translation between leadership and teams
- Know when to move autonomously and when to escalate or pull in leadership
Technical, Product, & Data Support
- Partner with Engineering and Product on special initiatives, such as developing internal Generative AI curriculum or supporting underperforming product areas
- Research and synthesize technical concepts (e.g., GenAI, tooling, platform capabilities) to support decision-making
- Use data and SQL to answer questions, validate assumptions, and inform recommendations
Talent & Network Enablement
- Support hiring efforts by helping identify, attract, and close top technical and product talent
- Leverage a strong internal and external network to strengthen team capabilities
You’ll be a good fit if you have:
- Exceptional communication skills — written, verbal, and visual — with a strong internal compass for quality and clarity
- Strategic thinker with strong judgment, able to prioritize, make decisions, and operate effectively with incomplete information
- Proven project management experience, including ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, translating inputs into execution without losing intent
- High degree of autonomy, urgency, and accountability
Preferred / Nice-to-Haves
- Technical and product fluency, with the ability to engage credibly with engineers and product leaders
- Familiarity with SQL and data analysis
- Experience researching or implementing Generative AI tools or concepts
- Startup experience, particularly in high-growth, fast-paced environments
- Strong recruiting instincts and a demonstrated ability to help win great talent
- Experience working closely with senior or executive-level stakeholders
