Software Engineer

San Francisco, Seattle

About Us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

About the Role

We’re hiring talented software engineers across multiple teams to help build and scale the core systems that power our platform.

Our engineers work on high-impact problems spanning product experiences, backend services, infrastructure, data systems, AI-powered features, and marketplace/recommendation systems. Depending on your strengths and interests, you could contribute to areas like personalization, search, payments, onboarding, internal tooling, platform scalability, or new product innovation.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, and Data to ship meaningful features, improve system reliability and performance, and help define the technical foundations that support our next stage of growth.

We’re looking for engineers who are:

  • Product-minded and motivated by user impact

  • Strong in system design and hands-on execution

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-moving environments

  • Excited to take ownership of complex problems end-to-end

  • Energized by building at scale in a high-growth company

This is an opportunity to join a mission-driven team, work on technically challenging problems, and shape the direction of a rapidly scaling platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and evolve the technical vision for critical product and platform systems

  • Architect scalable, reliable backend services that support high-volume workflows and transactions

  • Design and improve systems related to search, matching, personalization, recommendations, or other intelligent product capabilities

  • Continuously improve core user flows to reduce friction and increase reliability and performance

  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations to translate user and business needs into scalable technical solutions

  • Instrument systems, measure impact, and use data to optimize performance and outcomes

  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to production

  • Establish and improve engineering processes around planning, prioritization, and operational excellence

  • Mentor engineers and raise the bar for technical quality, clarity, and execution

  • Create documentation, architectural guardrails, and best practices that enable teams to scale effectively

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience (level-flexible for strong candidates)

  • Experience building and operating backend systems at scale

  • Strong system design and architectural thinking

  • Track record of delivering complex, ambiguous projects across multiple stakeholders

  • Product mindset — you care deeply about user experience and business impact

  • Data-driven approach to experimentation, measurement, and optimization

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Experience mentoring engineers and elevating team performance

  • Ownership mentality with a bias toward action and long-term thinking

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
