About the role

We’re looking for our first Director of Paid Media at Grüns! In this role, you will lead our paid media strategy, optimize acquisition efforts, and deliver measurable results that drive growth. 

We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, hands-on, and knows paid media inside and out. This person will be responsible for overseeing the management of day-to-day execution and operations of paid media campaigns across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other media platforms. 

This role is key to our success in the performance space and will have a significant impact on our company's growth and performance. Please note this is a US-based remote role reporting to our Head of Performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day paid media budget allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize performance and ROI.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of attribution across paid channels to guide broader budget allocation and channel strategies.
  • Lead a team of two specialists focused on optimizing campaigns and ads across various platforms, providing mentorship and ensuring high-performance execution.
  • Stay involved in ad platform operations (social, search, and video/display) to drive campaign success and demonstrate leadership through expertise.
  • Deliver actionable insights to the C-suite regarding channel performance, audience behavior, and ad efficacy to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with creative, web, and analytics teams to build scalable, highly efficient funnels.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • 4+ years of experience in paid media strategy and execution, with a proven track record of driving results across multiple channels
  • Scaled ad accounts from zero to $1 million in monthly ad spend
  • 3+ years of management experience leading teams of paid media specialists or similar roles.
  • Proficient with MTA (Multi-Touch Attribution), incrementality tests, and attribution platforms (e.g., Northbeam, Rockerbox, Triple Whale).
  • Experience running incrementality tests (e.g., Haus).
  • Hands-on experience launching and optimizing campaigns across key ad platforms, including Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, GMC, YouTube, Shopping/PMax.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a data-driven approach to campaign optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose performance issues and implement actionable solutions.

Bonus points for:

  • Familiarity with MMM tools (e.g., Prescient) to drive marketing effectiveness.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment, embracing a scrappy and resourceful mindset.
  • Canva skills for quick and effective ad creation.
  • Experience working at a subscription company
