About the role

As our Senior National Account Manager, Grocery, you'll drive our expansion and growth efforts in the grocery channel—with a primary focus on scaling Kroger, Publix, Albertsons Safeway, Wegmans, Hy-Vee, and more. You'll build and nurture strategic relationships with buyers and distributors, drive thoughtful growth plans, and ensure best-in-class execution across multiple stakeholders. Working through our sales broker Presence, you'll be instrumental in opening 500+ new doors while negotiating complex distributor partnerships with UNFI and KeHE. This is a highly cross-functional role that will partner closely with our operations, brand, and marketing teams to bring Grüns to life at shelf and beyond. This role reports directly to the VP of Sales.

This role is part of our remote HQ! We have a fully remote, high-trust work environment - and also come together on a bi-annual basis for amazing off-sites where we can connect IRL.

In this role, you will:

  • Service and grow relationships with Kroger, Publix, Albertsons Safeway, Wegmans, Hy-Vee, and more through our sales broker
  • Pitch and sell to new grocery accounts, managing dozens of competing priorities and opportunities
  • Negotiate and execute complex distributor contracts with UNFI, KeHE, and other key distribution partners
  • Develop channel-specific marketing strategies and execution plans to drive retail velocities and maximize revenue
  • Lead product launches and merchandising programs tailored to grocery requirements
  • Build compelling sales presentations and business proposals that resonate with grocery channel buyers
  • Track and analyze sales performance, competitive trends, and market opportunities using retail data tools
  • Collaborate with operations, marketing, and brand teams to ensure seamless execution across the grocery channel
  • Manage distributor relationships and navigate complex terms to secure favorable business arrangements
  • Drive strategic initiatives to open 500+ new grocery doors and achieve aggressive growth targets

We're looking for someone who:

  • 7+ years of sales experience in grocery channels, with direct experience managing key national grocery accounts
  • Demonstrates proven track record opening new distribution points and negotiating complex distributor contracts at favorable terms
  • Possesses strong understanding of grocery channel economics, merchandising strategies, and operational requirements
  • Has experience developing channel-specific packaging, product offerings, and marketing strategies
  • Excels at presentation and negotiation skills with confidence to challenge major distributors
  • Is proficient with retail data analysis tools (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI) and Microsoft Office suite
  • Brings passion for health and nutrition with deep product knowledge and industry obsession
  • Is a natural storyteller who can craft compelling narratives for buyers and stakeholders
  • Demonstrates fierce negotiation skills and isn't intimidated by major players like KeHE and UNFI
