People & Culture Onboarding Coordinator
What Impact You’ll Have:
GRVTY is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented HR Onboarding Coordinator with at least 2 years of onboarding experience, ideally within a government contracting environment. This role plays an integral part in creating a best-in-class new-hire experience while supporting the daily HR operations at our headquarters in McLean, VA.
This is a hybrid position requiring presence in our offices a minimum of 3 to 4 days per week to support employees and leadership with in-person engagement, onboarding, and collaboration. No 1099, Corp to Corp or third-party submissions will be accepted.
The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They will ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance through a new hire’s first day and early employment while upholding GRVTY’s high standard of service and compliance, particularly for customer-site onboarding, security requirements, and government contracting protocols.
What You’ll Be Owning:
- Onboarding: Coordinate all pre-employment requirements, including background checks, I-9 verification, and compliance documentation. Manage the full onboarding lifecycle from offer acceptance to first-day handoff, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all onboarding tasks. Conduct virtual and onsite new hire orientations. Maintain, enhance, and update onboarding materials, workflows, and resources to continuously improve the new-hire experience. Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires, addressing questions and guiding them through the onboarding process. Support customer-site onboarding expectations and requirements, particularly common in federal contracting environments.
- HR Administration: Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now). Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, life event changes, invoice verification, and employee inquiries. Support annual Open Enrollment processes and ongoing benefits communications.
- General HR Support: Participate in HR initiatives, process improvements, and cross-functional projects that enhance the employee lifecycle and overall HR operations. Support the People & Culture team with administrative tasks, reporting, documentation, and employee communications as needed.
What You Must Have:
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field Minimum 2 years of HR experience with a strong focus on onboarding
- Experience supporting onboarding in a government contracting environment required
- Working knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and compliance standards
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP preferred) and the Microsoft Office Suite Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
What Would Be Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting Contractor DOD onboarding
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or government contracting HR environment Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Experience supporting onboarding and HR operations in ADP Workforce Now
The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 annually based on experience and qualifications.
