POSITION OVERVIEW

GS Power Partners is seeking a collaborative, highly driven and results-oriented professional for a summer internship for its Development Management department. This position requires attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work with a cross-functional team of professionals.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for renewable energy development, work independently and will be an important contributor to our dynamic team.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Support the entire development of lifecycle for solar DG projects from site identification to Notice to Proceed (NTP)
  • Help to achieve all developmental milestones on schedule, including land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and environmental approvals
  • Review all project documentation, including title reports, surveys, and environmental assessments, to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Work closely with legal, engineering, and finance teams to ensure projects meet internal diligence requirements and external regulatory obligations
  • Assist in submitting key regulatory filings, permit applications, and interconnection requests when necessary, to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Ensure that all projects adhere to company goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Work with fellow interns across departments on summer research project

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability and clean energy
  • Any environmental fieldwork experience related to wetlands or endangered species
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-past environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience reading or interpreting legislation, local government legislation, a plus

EDUCATION

  • Applicants should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; rising Juniors and Seniors preferred

POSITION LOCATION

  • The position is located in our NYC office

COMPENSATION

  • $20 - $23 per hour, working 4 days a week (Monday- Thursday)
