POSITION OVERVIEW
GS Power Partners is seeking a collaborative, highly driven and results-oriented professional for a summer internship for its Interconnection department. This position requires attention to detail, superior communication skills, and the ability to work with a cross-functional team of professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for renewable energy development, work independently and will be an important contributor to our dynamic team.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Research grid capacity and interconnection feasibility using hosting capacity maps, queue data, and feeder constraints
- Gather and evaluate data on interconnection costs, timelines, and grid capacity across various regions and utilities
- Conduct research on existing and emerging interconnection policies and regulations in key markets
- Support the review of single-line diagrams and technical documents for interconnection applications
- Engage in team meetings and strategy discussions to gain practical insights into interconnection planning and management
- Work with fellow interns across departments on summer research project
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Interest in energy policy, utility regulations, and grid modernization
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on research projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
EDUCATION
- Applicants should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focused on Engineering, Energy Systems, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, Data Science, or a related field; rising Juniors and Seniors preferred
POSITION LOCATION
- The position is located in our NYC office
COMPENSATION
- $20 - $23 per hour, working 4 days a week (Monday- Thursday)
