
Senior Payroll Lead

What we need:
Guardian Restoration Partners is seeking a Senior Payroll Lead to oversee payroll operations across GPS and Partner Companies. This role will be the primary liaison for employee compensation programs, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, while managing the relationship with ADP Comprehensive Services. The ideal candidate has extensive payroll administration experience, particularly in multi-state or multi-entity environments, and excels in process optimization and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration: Oversee routine payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of wages, withholdings, and deductions.
- ADP Comprehensive Services Management: Serve as the primary liaison with ADP, leading the transition to a centralized payroll process and ensuring seamless system updates and issue resolution.
- Compliance & Tax Reporting: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, 401k deferrals, and benefits administration.
- Payroll Costing & Reporting: Ensure payroll structures align with departmental and job-level costing, providing financial reports and insights.
- Variable Pay Administration: Manage the processing of bonuses, commissions, and long-term incentives, ensuring performance tracking and proper approvals.
- Employee Support & Process Improvement: Address payroll inquiries, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement continuous improvements to payroll processes.
- Audit & Special Projects: Support year-end audits, tax requests, and broader team initiatives as needed.
Skills And Qualifications That Will Make You Successful In This Role:
- 6-8 years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, or Finance, with multi-state or multi-entity payroll administration.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience with ADP or similar third-party payroll providers, including implementation and integration.
- 2-4 years of direct experience administering variable pay elements (bonuses, commissions, long-term incentives) and ensuring payroll compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (or similar payroll platforms), including setup, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax laws, 401k deferrals, benefit withholdings, and compliance regulations.
- Expertise in financial reporting & cost allocation, structuring payroll data to align with departmental needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between leadership and finance teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

Compensation:
Guardian is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $100,000 - $120,000 + Annual Bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
Location: This role is a hybrid role – requiring 2-3 days/week in the downtown Denver office.
