Title: EMR System Specialist

Reports to: Director, Business and Clinical Systems

Department/Location: Remote

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Business and Clinical Systems, the EMR System Specialist will manage and optimize our EMR, Kipu Health, to meet the needs of our clinicians and support staff. This role will oversee end-user training, troubleshooting, and system enhancements while collaborating across teams to improve workflows and user experience. Strong problem-solving skills, healthcare IT experience, and technical expertise are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Training: 
    • Manage and conduct End User Training.
  •  Support:
    • Receive user inquiries from implementation and MSP Service Desk regarding configuration changes, product functionality or issues; research with the user to fully diagnose the issue then develop creative solutions and respond within established timelines.
    • Provide excellent customer service, prompt follow-up to user issues and proactive problem solving.
    • Thoroughly document all user encounters within the ticketing system, capturing pertinent user information, description of issue, troubleshooting steps and resolution notes offering the user and the other Support Center staff the future knowledge to resolve the same issue in the future.
    • Appropriately identify and handle problem research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for complex Clinical Systems problems.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for system users, answering technical questions and providing training as needed.
  • Application Testing:
    • Confirm successful testing of application changes in production and non-production environments.
  • Collaboration:
    • You will work closely with clinical, technical, and administrative teams to design, configure, troubleshoot, maintain the EMR system to meet the needs of our clinicians & support staff.
    • Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and maximize system potential by the end user.
    • Assist in troubleshooting integration dependent workflows and EMR system requirements.
  • Documentation:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including implementation guides, user guides, training materials, and knowledge bases for EMR system administration and use.
    • Manage updates to configuration inventory.
    • Review, create and maintain knowledge documentation to support the end user and other Clinical Support staff.
  • Configuration:
    • Implementation Stakeholder responsible for build and QA primary and secondary instance build for new launches.
    • Manage & setting adoption requirements for optimization efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 2-3 years of experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Healthcare Management Systems (HMS), or other clinical software platforms.
  • 2-3 years of Application support, training/education or related clinical experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with health care information systems or knowledge of processes and workflows common in behavioral health, preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS365 (specifically excel) & smartsheets, preferred.
  • Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
