Forescout Cyber Security Engineer, Mid

General Description

We are looking for a skilled Forescout Engineer, Mid to support implementing and operating next-generation security solutions for government and commercial clients. The individual will be responsible for the hands-on evaluation, implementation, and operation of leading cyber defense tools. By applying in-depth defense strategies to large and complex networks, you will help identify vulnerabilities, prioritize response actions, and develop effective countermeasures to protect critical data from malicious actors.

Roles and Responsibilities:  

• Deployment or daily maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances
• Network engineering duties, including physical or logical such as installation and activation of ports, configuration of switches, and LANS, VLANS, and network FW, or appliances or network administration services such as Active Directory, Guests LANS, and domain management
• Knowledge of multi-domain architectures, including data center, WAN, and LAN in virtualized architectures

Required Experience and Education: 

• TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a counter-intelligence polygraph. 
• 3+ years of experience performing systems administration for Windows or Linux, including performing basic troubleshooting and installation or configuration, monitoring system performance or availability, and performing security upgrades
• HS diploma or GED and 7+ years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, Associate’s degree and 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities, or Master’s degree and 1+ years of experience supporting IT projects and activities.
• A DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification such as SecurityX (formerly CASP+), CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, CCSP certification within 30 days of start date
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support Certification (CSSP-IS), including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND Certification, prior to start date on the contract.
• Embraces emerging technologies, including AI tools, to work smarter, solve problems, and drive better business outcomes

Preferred Experience and Education

• ForeScout Certified Administrator (FSCA) and/or ForeScout Certified Engineer (FSCE) certifications
• Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, federal security authorizations, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems
• Ability to install and deploy ForeScout in a multidomain customer environment
• Ability to integrate cybersecurity data using enterprise or custom tools data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk
• Ability to provide support in a Tier II IT operations and maintenance role, including ticket work information updates, issue responses, and remediation
• Ability to be a self-starter, work without considerable direction, and work with a team
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including for coordinating efforts and establishing customer relations

Travel Requirements

• This position requires 100% onsite support in Reston, VA OR Washington, D.C.

• Sedentary work
• Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for a minimum of 8 hours a day
• Required to have close visual acuity to view computer terminal and/or extensive reading for a minimum of 8 hours a day
