Are you passionate about early childhood education and looking for an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Montessori classroom? At Guidepost Montessori Bee Cave, we are always looking for dedicated, flexible substitute teachers (guides) to support our learning environments.
About the Role
As a Substitute Guide, you will work in mixed-age Montessori classrooms, assisting children in their daily routines and learning experiences. This role provides valuable exposure to Montessori education and is an excellent stepping stone for those looking to deepen their understanding of child development.
This is an on-call position, where we will reach out as needed to provide coverage when full-time teachers are away. Many of our substitute teachers transition into full-time Assistant Guide roles as openings arise.
Compensation & Training
- $17/hour for a 6 or 9-hour workday (includes a 30–60 minute lunch break). Compensation revision once Montessori Essentials and Orientation complete.
- Opportunity to earn a free MACTE-International Montessori Certification (valued at $15,000) by working at least 5 days per month
- Onboarding includes training in Montessori philosophy and classroom practices—no prior Montessori experience required
Qualifications
We are looking for individuals who:
✔️ Have a warm, friendly demeanor and a passion for working with children
✔️ Hold or are willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
✔️ Have a negative TB test (within the last 12 months)
✔️ Can pass a Texas state background check
✔️ Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
✔️ Preferably have ECE units or recent experience working with children ages 0-6
