Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Platform/Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to scaling our microservices infrastructure securely and cost-effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend software engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, and security, with a passion for driving operational excellence.

This is mostly an infra role (~60%) with some extra responsibilities around API integrations, automation, and tooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure for our microservices architecture.
  • Implement best practices for cloud infrastructure management, including automation, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of services.
  • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect our systems and data.
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Lead incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
  • Develop API integrations with external systems.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior-level infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or security role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (GCP preferred, but AWS and Azure is fine), tuning and scaling microservices infrastructure, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Expertise in automation tools (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
