VP, Training & Development

Remote

Position Title: VP, Training & Development

Location: Remote (United States), 25-50% travel required equating to twice a month

Reports to: Chief People Officer

Why this role?

At Guild Garage Group, training isn’t a support function — it’s a growth engine. As the fastest growing garage door platform in the industry, our ability to consistently develop leaders, technicians, sales professionals, and support teams across dozens of brands directly drives performance, retention, and culture.

The Vice President of Training & Development owns the strategy, execution, and evolution of how learning happens across the organization. This role leads a fully remote national training team while remaining deeply embedded in the field — partnering with brand leaders, understanding operational realities, and ensuring training solutions are relevant, practical, and scalable.

This is a highly hands-on leadership role. While responsible for long-term strategy and organizational development, the VP will actively facilitate training, co-create content with subject matter experts, pilot new programs, and model what great learning experiences look like — both virtually and in person. If you thrive inbuilding teams, influencing at the executive level, and rolling up your sleeves to deliver real-world impact, this role puts you at the center of Guild’s growth story.

Your Impact

As the Vice President of Training & Development, you will shape how Guild builds capability at scale. You’lldesign and execute the learning strategy that fuels leadership development, operational excellence, callcenter, sales performance, and cultural consistency across our growing platform.

You’ll translate business strategy into practical learning roadmaps, ensure consistent execution across brands, and measure the effectiveness of training investments through clear performance metrics. By embedding yourself within our brands and developing strong relationships with field leaders, you’ll ensure training content is grounded in reality and produces sustainable behavior change — not just knowledge transfer.

You will also build, coach, and inspire a high-performing remote training team, setting expectations for excellence, accountability, and innovation while modeling a strong learner-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Learning & Organizational Development

  • Develop and execute a multi-year learning and development strategy aligned to Guild's business goals, growth plans, and cultural priorities
  • Design scalable leadership development pathways for frontline leaders, general managers, and corporate leaders
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify capability gaps and prioritize enterprise-wide development initiatives
  • Establish clear learning standards, governance models, and operating rhythms across brands

Program Design, Facilitation, and Execution

  • Lead the design and implementation of high-impact learning programs including onboarding, sales training, leadership development, operational excellence, and technical capacity building
  • Personally facilitate and co-facilitate training sessions modeling best-in-class learning practices
  • Ensure all learning experiences are engaging, learner-centered, operationally relevant, and outcome-driven
  • Oversee curriculum development, instructional design quality, and content lifecycle management

Field Immersion & Brand Partnership

  • Travel approximately twice per month to partner with brand leadership teams, observe operations, and build trust with field teams
  • Embed into brand cultures to ensure training solutions reflect real-world workflows, constraints, and opportunities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operators and leaders on talent development, performance improvement, and change adoption
  • Continuously capture insights from the field to refine content, delivery models, and learning strategy

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, develop, and scale a fully remote national training team including hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development
  • Establish team operating cadence, project management standards, and execution discipline
  • Manage training budgets, vendor relationships, and external partnerships
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Technology, Systems & Data

  • Own the strategy and administration of learning technology platforms including LMS and digital learning tools
  • Ensure content accessibility, adoption, reporting accuracy, and data integrity across systems
  • Leverage analytics to measure training effectiveness, adoption, ROI, and performance impact
  • Build dashboards and reporting rhythms that communicate learning value to executive leadership
  • Own and prepare a monthly "scorecard" for training impact across the organization

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track key learning KPIs including training adoption, completion rates, retention impact, operational performance improvement, and ROI
  • Conduct needs analysis and skills gap assessments to guide program prioritization
  • Continuously refine programs based on data, learner feedback, and business outcomes

What you bring to the table

  • Proven ability to build and scale high-performing training organizations in distributed environments
  • Deep expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design, facilitation, and blended learning delivery
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, align, and communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Highly analytical mindset with experience using data to drive prioritization and investment decisions
  • Strong operational discipline with the ability to manage multiple initiatives at scale
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and fast-growth environments
  • Passion for building culture, developing people, and driving measurable business impact
  • Willingness to travel regularly to stay embedded in the field

You thrive in environments where growth creates complexity — and you bring clarity, structure, and momentum. You’re energized by travel, connection, and the opportunity to shape howt housands of people learn, lead, and succeed across a national platform.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
