🚪 Carpenter – Siding, Windows & Doors Installation – Flint, MI

Company: Dover Doors & Windows
Location: Flint, Michigan
Starting Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour

Dover Doors & Windows | Serving Our Community Since 1936

Dover Doors & Windows is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our Exterior Home Improvement Division. This position focuses primarily on residential siding installation but will also include the installation of replacement windows and entry doors. We are looking for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in their work, values quality over quantity, and is committed to delivering exceptional results that exceed customer expectations.

This is not a production installer position. We are seeking an individual who understands the importance of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and representing the reputation that Dover Doors & Windows has built since 1936.

Responsibilities

  • Install residential siding, replacement windows, and entry doors according to company standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform high-quality interior and exterior finish work.
  • Operate a siding brake and bend aluminum trim coil for custom trim fabrication.
  • Install flashing, weather barriers, sealants, and other water management systems correctly.
  • Read and follow work orders, installation instructions, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality, safety, and customer satisfaction standards.
  • Maintain a clean and professional job site.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and homeowners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in residential exterior remodeling, including siding, window, and door installation.
  • Proven experience installing replacement windows and entry doors.
  • Strong siding installation skills and understanding of proper installation techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate previous experience through references, project photos, or hands-on evaluation.
  • Proficient operating a siding brake and bending aluminum trim coil.
  • Strong knowledge of flashing, sealing, and water management practices.
  • Professional-grade caulking and finishing skills.
  • Ability to perform precise interior and exterior trim and finish work.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on fit, finish, and overall appearance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is more than an installer—they are a craftsman. We are not looking for someone who simply puts siding on houses. We want an individual who takes pride in every detail, understands that proper finishing is just as important as installation, and consistently delivers a finished product that reflects the quality and reputation of Dover Doors & Windows.

If you are passionate about quality workmanship, take pride in your craft, and want to be part of a company with nearly 90 years of excellence, we encourage you to apply.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
