Intern - Junior Project Leader

Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Project Leader Intern to support project coordination and execution within Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. This internship provides hands-on experience in leading and contributing to small-scale projects in a composites and wind energy environment.
As an intern, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Technical Leadership to gain practical exposure to project management, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support and assist in coordinating quality and continuous improvement projects, including helping develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Participate in and help document cross-functional sessions (e.g., FMEA, lessons learned, process improvement discussions)
- Track project milestones, action items, and risks, and assist with status reporting to stakeholders

Support Quality Management System (QMS) documentation updates and control
- Assist with tracking nonconformance reports (NCRs) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs)
- Contribute to audit preparation and support internal/external audits (AS9100D / ISO 9001)
- Help with data collection, analysis, and reporting using Excel, SharePoint, and Power BI
- Collaborate with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering teams on project-related activities
Required qualifications
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related STEM field
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint or Power BI is a plus
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to work on-site in the New Orleans area for the duration of the internship
