Overview

The Account Director is an individual contributor responsible for driving new and incremental revenue along with growing existing business through GumGum’s market leading Mindset platform. Reporting into the Group Sales Director for the Southeast region, this role owns the development and growth of key relationships across large and mid sized agencies, leading strategic client conversations and partnerships. 

This role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively managing a book of business while leveraging cross functional partners across account management, client strategy, marketing, and operations to deliver strong client outcomes. The Account Director is accountable for full cycle sales execution from prospecting and pipeline development through negotiation and close. 

Account Directors bring 4+ years of digital advertising sales experience and a deep understanding of the media and adtech ecosystem. They apply strong business judgment to navigate complex client needs, recommend the right solutions from GumGum’s proven tech stack, and solve a wide range of challenges using established processes while knowing when to push beyond them to drive growth and differentiation. 

Note: This position offers the opportunity for remote work or 'work from home' as there isn't a nearby office. However, GumGum is excited to only consider applicants residing in the local area listed in the job description for business needs including some or all of the following: client interaction, team interaction, timezone, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue: Own and grow a strategic book of business ($2.5M+) through thoughtful account planning, expansion strategies, and proactive pipeline management. This territory will cover independent agencies within the Atlanta metro market and surrounding state-level territories.  
  • Relationship Development: Lead client conversations positioning GumGum as a strategic partner, not a vendor across programmatic media opportunities. Translate client objectives into solutions across GumGum’s Mindset, Omnichannel, and Outcomes framework.
  • Collaborate: across account management, ad operations, client strategy, and other cross functional teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Maintain: Salesforce and pipeline hygiene and forecasting accuracy quarterly/annually. 

Skills You'll Bring

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

  • 4+ years of digital advertising sales experience with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Proven ownership of $3M+ annual book of business with year over year growth. 
  • Demonstrated success selling programmatic, contextual, video, and/or CTV solutions. 
  • Strong agency and brand relationships with the ability to navigate multiple stakeholders across planning, activation, and measurement. 
  • Comfort operating in a fast paced, evolving media environment with changing products and strategies.

Skills:

  • Strong market presence and relationships across the Southeast region.
  • Experience using new business/prospecting tools (e.g. Sellercrowd, Media Radar, Pathmatics, LI Sales Navigator, etc.) to identify and qualify new business. 
  • Pipeline and deal management. 
  • Analytical and solutions oriented - able to synthesize data into clear sales narratives for client needs. 
  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills. 
  • Strategic relationship builder who balances long term partnerships with near term revenue delivery .

What We Offer

At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated base pay range for this role is from $91,000 -$115,500 annually.  The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.

The total rewards package offered also includes an employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan, and depending on the role, participation in a bonus, commission, or stock incentive program.
