Managing Consultant - Retail

What You’ll Experience as a Managing Consultant at TGG:

  • Delivering results for our clients on large, complex projects, or on multiple projects simultaneously as a billable consultant.
  • Engage directly in business development initiatives to expand TGG’s presence in the Portland market, especially within the Retail industry.
  • Managing TGG consultants by coaching and supporting their professional development.
  • Taking ownership of retail specific client accounts to ensure that TGG's delivery team is providing exceptional results.

What You Will Work On:

  • Identify and drive opportunities to grow TGG’s presence by building trusted relationships and delivering solutions that solve real client challenges.
  • Deliver complex and strategic consulting services across client environments, with an emphasis on Retail clients and related domains such as e-commerce, omnichannel, and supply chain.
  • Managing and supporting the development of consultants and delivery teams. 
  • Apply deep Retail industry expertise to guide clients through transformation initiatives by addressing challenges such as evolving customer behaviors, digital enablement, loyalty innovation, and omni-channel growth strategies.

Who Will You Work With:

  • Retail clients and cross-industry partners in the Portland area to deliver transformative outcomes and build lasting partnerships.
  • TGG Leadership team to develop and close strategic opportunities within current and new clients. 
  • A collaborative team of consultants that deliver outstanding client service. 

Examples of What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a consulting firm, leading client engagements and teams. Candidates with significant leadership experience in a related field may also be considered, provided they can demonstrate success in managing client relationships and delivering impactful business results.
  • Proven ability to drive business development by leveraging a strong professional network, cultivating stakeholder relationships, managing client accounts, and selling professional services with a high level of emotional intelligence and strategic insight.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible results in various business environments.
  • Proven ability to lead client accounts. 
  • A desire to be intellectually curious, ensuring a deep understanding of current business and market trends within a professional services firm. 
  • The ability to lead consultants and delivery teams within our service lines of execution, technology, people, and strategy; while innately operating with integrity. 
  • You have deep experience in enterprise program management, project management, business analysis, change management, and/or process improvement methodologies and how they are used in business settings. You have knowledge of Agile techniques and experience in organizational design and/or business strategy development.
  • Bring deep expertise in the Retail industry with a proven ability to lead complex business and IT initiatives. Skilled across digital transformation, POS systems, omnichannel operations, supply chain, and data-driven strategies that drive meaningful results.
  • Bring a deep understanding of the Retail industry, with domain expertise in areas such as digital transformation, POS systems, omnichannel operations, merchandising, and supply chain. This is paired with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects across business and IT teams. Your functional strengths span digital, e-commerce, technology, data architecture, and analytics, all within the context of delivering impactful solutions in the Retail space.
  • Expertise in strong presentation, facilitation, and communication (written and verbal) skills while demonstrating grounded confidence to your audience. 
  • A strong professional network.
  • Experience managing implementation of applications such as ERP, CRM, and POS.
  • Certifications in one or more of the following: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), and/or Prosci ADKAR. 

Salary and Benefits:

Salaries vary and are dependent on considerations such as: experience and specific skills/certifications. The base plus target bonus total compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000. Additional compensation beyond this range is available as a result of leadership and business development opportunities. Salary details are discussed openly during the hiring process.

Work Environment:

TGG is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and has team members living in various locations across the United States. Our clients' onsite and travel requirements vary—some may require daily onsite visits, while others might be monthly, quarterly, or as needed. We serve clients across diverse industries, including Fortune 100 companies, retail, apparel, government, education, and insurance. Because of this, our consultants must be adaptable, with the ability to travel and work both remotely and onsite. Each engagement has unique conditions, and we work collaboratively with both our client and team members regarding onsite and travel requirements.
