Managing Consultant - Technology Strategy and Execution

TGG - Nashville

At The Gunter Group, we are a people-first management consulting firm and proud 20-time workplace award winner. We build trusted partnerships with our clients to deliver practical solutions and lasting impact at the intersection of strategy, execution, people, and technology. We show up ready to roll up our sleeves, solve complex problems, and make a real difference together

What You’ll Experience as a Managing Consultant at TGG:

  • Operate as a senior, technology-fluent consulting leader who mobilizes executives, aligns architects, and orchestrates complex delivery at scale—owning outcomes rather than hands-on technical execution.
  • Lead large, complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across data, AI/ML, and technology-enabled transformation or modernization, with accountability for executive alignment, decision clarity, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Direct cross-functional teams spanning program management, data, technology, and design, setting direction, resolving ambiguity, and maintaining momentum as complexity increases.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client leaders, guiding decisions, surfacing trade-offs, and sustaining alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Partner in business development efforts to grow TGG’s presence in the Nashville market, particularly within technology-focused clients and initiatives.
  • Manage, coach, and develop TGG consultants, strengthening delivery excellence and supporting long-term professional growth.
  • Own key client accounts, providing strong governance, strategic alignment, and consistently high-quality delivery.

What You Will Work On:

  • Succeed by mobilizing leaders, guiding critical decisions, and orchestrating complex execution—not by acting as a hands-on technical designer, architect, or builder.
  • Lead enterprise-scale, technology-enabled transformation and modernization initiatives, aligning business strategy, technology direction, and execution across multi-year programs.
  • Guide executive decision-making by helping senior leaders navigate trade-offs across scope, timing, cost, risk, and organizational readiness in highly complex environments.
  • Support and challenge technology and architecture strategies using business judgment, systems thinking, and delivery experience, in partnership with client executives, architects, and technical teams.
  • Shape and lead complex programs or workstreams, navigating ambiguity and competing priorities to ensure technology solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Help leaders establish and mature enterprise data practices—including governance, ownership, and stewardship—to enable scalable, modern data capabilities.
  • Grow TGG’s presence by building trusted client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the expansion of technology-focused consulting engagements.

Who Will You Work With:

  • Cross-industry clients navigating transformation, modernization, or technology-enabled change.
  • TGG Leadership team to develop and close strategic opportunities within current and new clients.
  • A collaborative team of consultants that delivers outstanding client service.

Examples of What You Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, including at least 5 years in a consulting firm, leading client engagements and teams. Candidates with significant leadership experience in a related field may also be considered, provided they can demonstrate success in managing client relationships and delivering impactful business results.
  • Proven ability to drive business development by leveraging a strong professional network, cultivating stakeholder relationships, managing client accounts, and selling professional services with a high level of emotional intelligence and strategic insight.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible results in various business environments.
  • Proven ability to lead client accounts and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • A desire to be intellectually curious, ensuring a deep understanding of current business and market trends within a professional services firm.
  • Experience with enterprise solutions and their implementations.
  • Expertise in technology-enabled transformation with skills in areas such as digital modernization, data and analytics, cloud platforms, AI and ML, and human-centered solution design.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey grounded confidence to diverse audiences.
  • A strong professional network.
