We're looking for a strategic, growth-oriented Product Marketing Manager to accelerate the adoption and growth of Gusto Money – a new suite of cash flow products designed to help our customers gain more control over their revenue, expenses, and access to capital. Examples of this work that you’ll be deeply engaged in are getting SMBs paid (invoicing and accepting credit cards for payment), managing money out (bill payment, expense management), accessing working capital (various forms of lending), and storing hard earned money (banking services).  You’ll have the opportunity to shape strategy and make an incredible impact on a new business that will drive growth for Gusto and our customers.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Understand the market: Identify unmet/underserved customer needs and develop small business customer segmentation. Evaluate market trends and competitive landscape to define our durable moats and rights to win.
  • Create Positioning, Messaging, and Packaging: Articulate who we serve, how we are differentiated and deliver value, and develop value propositions and messaging.
  • Deliver Go-to-Market Strategies and Campaigns: Use insights on how to reach target customers across their journey to design go-to-market strategies that hit metrics across awareness, adoption, and engagement. Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Design teams to deliver these campaigns by orchestrating them through a customer data platform and martech tools across in-app, web, email, and other communication channels.
  • Strategy and Planning: Partner with cross-functional teams to drive strategy, goal setting, and execution. Take pride and ownership of revenue and customer growth. Track to ensure we are delivering against commitments on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis on a high growth, new business unit.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 3-5 years experience of demonstrable success in leading product marketing with a focus on B2B products or verticals; experience within small business fintech products is highly preferred.
  • Experience using customer insights and data to inform segmentation, messaging, champion/challenger experimentation, and other best-in-class real-world application of your craft.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strategic thinking combined with a “roll up the sleeves” doer attitude

Our cash compensation amount for this role is between $121,000 - $130,000/year in Denver and between $121,000 - $157,000/year for New York/San Francisco. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
