About the Role:
We’re looking for a Sales Compensation Analyst to join our team. As a key contributor to our revenue organization, you will leverage data skills and serve as a close business partner to our sales teams, working to optimize and implement our compensation strategies. This role provides a unique opportunity to support and shape a highly visible and critical function of our business, ensuring that our sales compensation plans drive alignment and performance. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Partner with key stakeholders across sales, finance, HR, and operations to implement and execute sales compensation strategies.
- Analyze sales performance data to assess the effectiveness of compensation plans and identify improvement opportunities.
- Model potential changes to commission structures, quotas, and bonus programs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Support the design and rollout of incentive programs, ensuring transparency and clear communication to the sales organization.
- Create and manage dashboards and reports to monitor key sales compensation metrics and KPIs.
- Perform ad hoc analysis related to compensation plan effectiveness, sales performance, and cost of compensation.
- Collaborate with sales leadership and finance to align compensation with revenue growth objectives and maintain budget compliance.
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of compensation administration.
Here’s what we're looking for:
- 5+ years of experience in sales compensation administration, sales operations, or financial analysis.
- 5+ years of SoX compliances with respect to Sales Compensation Administration
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in modeling compensation structures and performance analysis.
- Expertise in sales-stack technologies and analytical tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Tableau, or similar).
- High proficiency with Excel, including experience in building financial models and forecasts.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of how compensation impacts sales performance and company goals.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage projects from concept to completion.
- Clear and concise communication skills, comfortable presenting findings to sales leaders and executives.
Extra skills are a plus:
- Experience with commission software tools (e.g., Xactly, SPIFF, Varicent).
- Knowledge of sales compensation trends and best practices in SaaS.
- Experience with SQL, R, or Python for advanced data analysis.
Our cash compensation range for this role is offering a salary pay from $103,000/ year - $126,000/ year for Denver, Chicago, & most major metro locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
