This individual contributor role requires collaboration across marketing teams (organic and paid acquisition, creative, product marketing, analytics, communications) and cross-functional partners (product, sales, and growth teams) to ensure brand marketing initiatives contribute to both customer acquisition and long-term brand growth.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

You’ll create and implement strategic brand programs that ensure Gusto is top-of-mind among small business owners, tracking key brand health metrics such as aided and unaided brand awareness, brand consideration scores, and share of voice (SOV).
  • Lead high-impact brand campaigns from strategy to execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and audience insights. You’ll work across paid, owned, and earned channels to develop compelling brand storytelling that resonates with our target audience, while optimizing reach, impressions, engagement rates, video completion rates, and message recall.
  • Define and track key brand health metrics to measure and optimize brand performance. You’ll analyze data from brand tracking studies, campaign analytics, and customer insights to continuously refine marketing strategies and enhance effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure brand marketing contributes to business growth and revenue. You’ll work closely with Product, Sales, and Demand Gen teams to ensure brand campaigns support lead generation, marketing-influenced pipeline, customer retention, and overall revenue impact.
  • Manage agency relationships to develop and execute best-in-class creative that aligns with brand goals. You’ll oversee external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns maintain high-quality execution, consistency, and brand integrity.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external touchpoints. You’ll help codify Gusto’s brand strategy into messaging frameworks, creative guidelines, and marketing assets, ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand experience across all channels.
  • Drive operational excellence by executing campaigns on time and on budget. You’ll oversee the planning, execution, and measurement of brand marketing initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration with creative, media, and analytics teams.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of brand marketing experience, with a strong background in B2B SaaS and growing brands at scale ($100M+ revenue).
  • Proven ability to own and deliver on key brand KPIs (awareness, consideration, NPS, and brand perception).
  • Expertise in brand positioning, messaging, and storytelling, with experience leading high-impact campaigns.
  • Strong analytical mindset to measure brand health, campaign performance, and business impact.
