About the Role:

The Broker Integration team, is a rapidly growing team of Advocates that serves customers who want to keep their external benefits broker, but still get access to all integration benefits with Gusto, through an all-in-one product experience. As a core member of the Broker Onboarding Advocate team, you will be responsible for working with customers and their brokers to set up their health benefits in Gusto while providing a delightful customer experience. You will guide customers through each step of the integration process, from collecting benefit information, to building the benefit plans and enrollments in our internal systems, and facilitating open enrollment at renewal.

The Broker Onboarding Advocate team is passionate about using innovative technology and service to elevate the health benefits experience of small business owners, their employees, and their brokers. Each team member is a true owner and makes a tremendous impact every day. You’ll also have the opportunity to partner cross functionally with a variety of other teams at Gusto, as we collaborate to improve the Broker Integration process and product.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers and brokers via email, phone, and Zoom. 
  • Facilitate the onboarding and renewal process using Gusto’s internal systems and tools, by gathering benefits information, building policies, integrating enrollments and facilitating open enrollment.
  • Effectively manage your time across each of your customers, to ensure the right tasks are prioritized at the right time. 
  • Partner cross-functionally to unblock points of friction, problem-solve, and proactively address potential concerns for customers.
  • Help scale the broker integration team and product by identifying pain points and seeking innovative solutions to address them.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of customer-facing experience, bonus points for exposure to benefits or payroll experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Skilled in problem solving and very comfortable dealing with ambiguity
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working collaboratively and autonomously - excited about striving toward team and individual metrics

Our cash compensation for this role is $23.56/hr to $27.40/hr in Denver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
