Municipal Research Analyst
Summary
The Municipal Research Analyst will conduct comprehensive credit analysis in all sectors of the municipal bond market.
Responsibilities
- Review primary and secondary market offerings to determine credit quality with accompanying detailed written and spreadsheet analysis.
- Perform ongoing surveillance on current holdings to ensure continued alignment with investment strategies.
- Monitor credit and sector trends, providing timely insights to portfolio managers.
- Discuss credit risk and attributes with portfolio managers.
- Collaborate with traders to optimize execution of trades and ensure alignment with portfolio strategy.
- Participate in team-based special projects and contribute to continuous enhancements of the research process.
- Attend industry conferences and conduct site visits as needed to enhance market knowledge and network within the industry.
Qualifications
- 5 - 10 years of experience in municipal bond credit analysis, with exposure to a broad array of sectors including High Yield.
- Bachelors degree required and CFA designation preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present credit research findings clearly and persuasively to internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including advanced Excel skills; experience with Bloomberg; familiarity with Perform/Creditscope or similar platforms preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
