Operations Specialist - Trade Settlements
Summary:
The Operations Specialist supports key functions within Investment Operations, with a specific focus on trade settlements. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of trades by coordinating with brokers, custodians, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain efficient post-trade operations. The position also contributes to process improvements and operational initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Support the timely settlement of fixed income and equity trades by coordinating with brokers, custodians, and internal teams
- Monitor and manage trade allocations and affirmations Charles River OMS, DTCC products, and other platforms
- Monitor electronic trade confirmations via DTC and reconcile broker confirmations against internal systems
- Identify, investigate, and resolve trade discrepancies prior to settlement to minimize risk
- Submit trade allocations and instructions to counterparties via electronic platforms and other communication channels
- Maintain and update delivery instructions across internal systems and DTCC ALERT to ensure accurate trade processing
- Preserve trade-related records, data files, and documentation
- Assist in onboarding new trading or custody accounts, including coordination of required documentation
- Prepare and report trade settlement metrics to management on a regular basis
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, and trade settlement processes
- Support special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in investment operations and trade settlements; experience with fixed income and equity securities required
- Experience with Charles River Development post-trade functionality strongly preferred
- Familiarity with SQL, database tools, Investortools Perfom, Gresham Control for IM, Eagle Investment Systems, and derivatives a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
This role is based in our Boston office on a hybrid schedule - 4 days per week in-office, 1 day per week remote.
The actual base salary is dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, GW&K employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus and/or commission, which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.
Base Salary Range
$65,000-$75,000 USD
